The opco is a leading foods company involved in milling, production, marketing and sales of high quality flour and flour-based ambient, stable, ready-to-eat food products in the fast moving consumer goods (FMCG) space.

Job Summary:

Senior level resource to act as a project consultant on a feed mill construction project. The consultant is required to support commercial and technical project teams with the successful execution/implementation of a 45MT/hour (aqua and poultry) feed mill project that is about to enter construction phase.

Required Competencies and Skills:

Deep understanding of the operating model for the proposed projects; key success factors and drivers and must be conversant with industry dynamics and value differentiation options along the value chain.

Good appreciation and application of project management principles.

Strong ability to solve problems, challenge status quo and manage transition to a “better” way of doing things.

Must possess sound strategic thinking skills and business acumen, able to identify how certain decisions might impact value creation and profitability.

Must have very good stakeholder management skills. Should be able to effectively navigate the various stakeholders the role needs to interact with.

Excellent communication, negotiation and conflict management skills.

Must be able to effectively lead and manage different resources to achieve project objectives.

Should possess very good organisational skills.

Qualifications/Requirements:

The ideal person must possess a minimum qualification of a good first degree and a relevant post graduate qualification, preferably an MBA or relevant certification.

A minimum of 15 years post qualification experience, with a minimum of 5 years in an executive management position within the FMCG sector.

Hands on experience driving large scale projects in difficult terrains.

Experience working in emerging markets or similar economy/environment with very good appreciation of business pecularities and contexts.
